{"id":10522,"date":"2013-10-22T16:54:16","date_gmt":"2013-10-22T20:54:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/americanhiking.org\/?p=10522"},"modified":"2021-08-06T12:10:28","modified_gmt":"2021-08-06T16:10:28","slug":"save-trails-concludes-real-work-begins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/americanhiking.org\/save-trails-concludes-real-work-begins\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cSave Your Trails\u201d Fundraising Campaign Concludes, Real Work Begins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks very much to all of the generous donors who contributed to the \u201cSave Your Trails\u201d fund.\u00a0 This fundraising effort has now been successfully concluded, and we are proceeding with our efforts to protect the hiking experience on sections of National Scenic Trails where bicycling is already prohibited.\u00a0 In the coming year, American Hiking Society will be working with federal agencies, hiking clubs, and others in the outdoor recreation community to understand and address this issue as it affects the hiking experience on National Scenic Trails. \u00a0This post provides a brief recap of the issue, a couple of hyperlinks to more detailed information, and a summary of recent related activities.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9599 alignright\" style=\"margin: 20px;\" alt=\"LT CDT\" src=\"https:\/\/americanhiking.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/100_1756-Large-Web-view.jpg\" width=\"358\" height=\"268\" srcset=\"https:\/\/americanhiking.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/100_1756-Large-Web-view.jpg 640w, https:\/\/americanhiking.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/100_1756-Large-Web-view-550x412.jpg 550w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 358px) 100vw, 358px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>American Hiking Society is not opposed to mountain biking, and we have demonstrated a genuine willingness to work alongside the mountain biking community to promote and protect trails and the outdoor recreation experience.
